My Personal Immigration Story

I arrived in the United States at the age of 12, fortunate that my father and stepmother successfully used family-based petitions to bring me here and establish my residency. However, my journey didn’t end there. While I was reunited with my father, my mother and siblings remained in my home country. It became my mission to bring them to the U.S., and I knew the first step was to petition for my mother.

Unfortunately, there was a significant obstacle: I had to wait until I turned 21 to begin the process. Once I reached that age, I became a U.S. citizen and began the lengthy process of petitioning for my mother, who could then petition for my siblings.

Along the way, I was advised to consult with an attorney, but the high legal fees were beyond my means as a young person with limited financial resources. Undeterred, I took it upon myself to learn everything I could about the immigration process. I devoured resources, read extensively, and sought guidance from knowledgeable individuals who were generous enough to help.

This personal experience not only gave me a deep understanding of the immigration system but also sparked a passion for helping others facing similar challenges. My own journey led me to pursue a career as Global Immigration Consultant, where I could advocate for immigrants and support them in navigating the often complex and costly process. By helping others achieve their dreams of reuniting with their families and building a life in the U.S., I am able to channel my own struggles into meaningful, impactful work for the immigrant community.
